Internal Audit Lead – Global Insurer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Lead to head internal audit activities across our global insurance business, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage internal audits across business functions, including financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.
• Conduct special reviews and investigations, identifying control weaknesses, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit strategy and annual risk‑based audit plan aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes, providing practical recommendations to management.
• Monitor, validate, and report on the implementation status of corrective actions to ensure timely remediation.
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, regulators, and key stakeholders, facilitating examinations and audits.
• Prepare and present high‑quality audit reports to senior management, executive committees, and governance bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive audit experience in insurance, financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Proven experience leading or overseeing an internal audit function, preferably within a life insurance company.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of life insurance operations, regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, internal controls and corporate governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
