Junior School Teacher (KS1)

About the role

North London Collegiate School Hong Kong is establishing its Junior School and seeks an enthusiastic Junior School Teacher (KS1) to join the founding team. The role begins in the pre‑opening phase and transitions to full‑time classroom teaching when the school opens in August 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Support admissions, pupil recruitment and community engagement during the pre‑opening period.
• Help develop school systems, procedures and culture.
• Deliver the bespoke KS1 curriculum, based on the English National Curriculum with local adaptations and elements of the PYP, once the school is operational.
• Provide pastoral care and contribute to the overall wellbeing of students.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure a smooth transition from pre‑opening to full operation.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience in early years or primary education.
• Enthusiastic, committed and able to work in a start‑up school environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with parents and the wider community.
• Willingness to contribute to the development of school culture and traditions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the English National Curriculum and its adaptation for KS1.
• Familiarity with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) concepts.
