Learning and Engagement Officer – School & Youth

About the role

The Hong Kong Palace Museum is seeking a Learning and Engagement Officer to design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes for school groups, families and youth audiences. This fixed‑term position will support the museum’s educational mission through hands‑on workshops, lectures, internships and outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a range of learning programmes, including internships, lectures, workshops, educational resources, school visits, family events and outreach initiatives.
• Conduct research for content creation, prepare proposals and reports, and evaluate programme impact through audience research.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, schools, NGOs and other stakeholders to ensure smooth programme delivery.
• Maintain effective communication across all organisational levels and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior museum leadership.

Required profile

• Recognised university degree in education, communications, humanities, museum studies, arts, history, cultural management, social sciences or a related field.
• At least two years of experience coordinating engagement projects and educational events in museum, cultural or educational settings.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required.
• Self‑motivated, organised, with strong content development and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; Putonghua is an advantage.
