Learning & Development Manager / Assistant Manager (Hotel)

About the role

The Learning & Development Manager / Assistant Manager will lead the hotel’s L&D strategy, creating and delivering training solutions that support business objectives and enhance the guest experience. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the role combines curriculum design, budget oversight and partnership building across all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify learning and development needs across departments and design tailored training programmes.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate face-to-face training sessions for staff at all levels.
• Manage the annual L&D budget, monitor monthly expenses and ensure a reasonable ROI.
• Coach department heads to develop internal trainers and sustain a positive development culture.
• Implement culture-building initiatives, core values and service standards through targeted training campaigns.
• Design and run performance-based recognition programmes aligned with training assessments.
• Maintain partnerships with local and overseas educational institutions to create branding and learning opportunities.
• Lead staff-engagement and communication projects related to career and personal growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in learning and development, preferably within hospitality or a service-focused environment.
• Strong ability to assess training needs, design curricula and evaluate effectiveness.
• Excellent coaching and stakeholder-management skills, with a track record of developing internal trainers.
• Budget management experience and a results-oriented mindset.
• Effective communication and project-management capabilities.
