Legal Counsel (Hong Kong)

About the role

foodpanda is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its Hong Kong operations. You will act as a trusted legal partner, providing practical advice across a wide range of commercial and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on regulatory, intellectual property, e‑commerce, employment, privacy, competition and technology issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts with marketing partners, suppliers and restaurants.
• Assess products, features and initiatives to mitigate legal risk while supporting business growth.
• Collaborate with legal teams in Berlin HQ and the APAC region to ensure consistency and alignment.
• Drive continuous improvement of standard agreements and internal legal processes.
• Manage external counsel and advisors as required.

Required profile

• Law degree and admission as a Hong Kong solicitor (or equivalent common‑law jurisdiction).
• 1–4 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or in‑house at a platform, e‑commerce or technology company.
• Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, drafting and commercial law.
• Experience in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments with ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent English communication; Cantonese or Mandarin a plus.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and influence stakeholders.
