Logistics Technician

About the role

As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician, you will support Microsoft’s Cloud Operations by managing inbound and outbound deliveries, performing cycle audits, and ensuring secure handling of third‑party vendor activities. The position offers exposure to large‑scale inventory management, warranty processes, and data‑bearing device destruction within a world‑class cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, perform cycle audits, and document all inventory movements.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors and manage warranty claims, including packaging, shipment, and receipt of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices.
• Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems such as configuration management databases and asset repositories.
• Track physical inventory, stage equipment, reconcile discrepancies, and generate reports.
• Perform secure destruction of data‑bearing devices in accordance with service‑level agreements.
• Escalate issues during high‑volume periods and apply best‑practice judgment with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand the impact of inventory actions.
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to work independently and follow established SLAs.
• Excellent organizational skills for maintaining up‑to‑date logical information across multiple systems.

Required skills

• Experience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB).
• Proficiency in Asset Management Repositories.
• Knowledge of data‑bearing device (DBD) destruction procedures.
