Manager, Investor Engagement

About the role

HKSTP is seeking a seasoned professional to lead investor engagement across its Deep Tech and Life & Health Innovation ecosystem. The Manager will act as a trusted advisor to high‑potential startups, guiding them through capital raising, sharpening their investability, and matching them with top‑tier venture capital, private equity, and corporate investors.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain deep relationships with investors and HKSTP startups, curating strategic matches based on sector, growth stage, and investment thesis.
• Advise founders on fundraising strategies, valuation models, cap‑table structures, term‑sheet negotiations, and pitching techniques.
• Prepare startups for investor readiness by optimizing data rooms, investment decks, financial models, and governance structures.
• Lead deal flow from introduction to close, coordinating pitch meetings, due‑diligence processes, and term‑sheet discussions.
• Organise high‑profile, theme‑based investor pitching events and continuously expand HKSTP’s global investor network.
• Monitor macroeconomic trends, private‑equity developments, and technical breakthroughs to inform ecosystem strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences, Biotech, or related fields.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, corporate venture capital, financial advisory, or corporate development.
• Hands‑on experience in Healthcare/Life Sciences or Deep Tech verticals such as AI, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, new materials, or energy.
• Deep understanding of startup lifecycles, financial analysis, valuation mechanics, term‑sheet negotiations, and due‑diligence workflows.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling investment cases for institutional investors.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
