National Private Sector Engagement Officer

About the role

The National Private Sector Engagement Officer will support IOM’s Global Private Sector Strategy in Hong Kong, acting as a key liaison between the organization and corporate and philanthropic partners. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, IOM China and working closely with the Head of Sub‑Office in Hong Kong and the Regional Office for Asia‑Pacific, the officer will help mobilise flexible funding and promote responsible business practices that advance IOM’s migration mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and manage high‑value partnerships with corporations and foundations operating in Hong Kong.
• Mobilise flexible funding and in‑kind contributions to support IOM programmes on humanitarian assistance, labour migration and anti‑trafficking.
• Promote responsible business practices and corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with IOM’s strategic plan.
• Coordinate closely with IOM China, the Hong Kong Sub‑Office and the Regional Office for Asia‑Pacific to ensure alignment of partnership activities.
• Provide regular reporting to the Head of Global Partnerships and Pipeline Development Unit at Headquarters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private‑sector partnership development, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of migration issues and the role of the private sector in addressing them.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with ability to work across multicultural teams.
• Commitment to IOM’s values of inclusivity, respect and professionalism.
