Part-time Educational Assistant (French)

About the role

The English Schools Foundation is seeking a part‑time Educational Assistant to support French language learning at South Island School. Working under the direction of the Head of French, you will help students achieve curriculum goals and enrich their authentic language experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students in developing French proficiency and maximise their curriculum achievements.
• Support teachers in delivering French lessons and increasing student access to the curriculum.
• Prepare, organise and manage teaching resources and related systems.
• Facilitate authentic language experiences and cultural activities.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Head of French.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native French speaker with fluent English.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals, small groups and whole‑class settings under qualified teacher supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented attitude.
• Optional: capability to plan and deliver lessons for a small cohort of native speakers, including DELF preparation.

Required skills

• High proficiency in French (native level).
