Performance Jumping Coach

About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a Performance Jumping Coach to deliver high‑quality coaching on flat and jumping disciplines. The role supports staff, livery clients, youth squad members and riding school participants across its equestrian facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coaching on the flat and over fences for club members, livery horses and riding school clients as requested.
• Develop and run programmes that encourage participation in jumping, including lecture demos and clinics.
• Select and develop suitable horses for show‑jumping, expanding the pool of competitive horses for Hong Kong riders.
• Collaborate with the Executive Manager, Performance Manager and other discipline coaches to design youth development programmes.
• Travel with Hong Kong representatives to international competitions to offer coaching support.
• Coach internal staff to improve their horse‑handling and jumping skills and prepare them for monthly competitions and BHS exams.
• Participate in the Show Committee, contributing to the planning and execution of high‑quality horse shows and progressive jumping events.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience coaching flat and jumping disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of horse selection, development and preparation for show jumping.
• Ability to work with diverse client groups, including youth and senior riders.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
