Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education

About the role

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at CUHK invites applications for a full‑time faculty appointment at the level of Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education. The successful candidate will join a vibrant research and teaching community focused on curriculum, instruction and STEAM education, and will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering foundations of mathematics curriculum, pedagogical content knowledge, research methods and STEAM education.
• Conduct high‑quality scholarly research, publish in leading international journals and seek external competitive research grants.
• Supervise graduate students, including research theses and teaching practicum projects.
• Lead programme development and innovate learning and teaching practices, especially through emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum design and professional activities at local, regional and international levels.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Mathematics Education or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated record of active research and high‑impact publications that are internationally recognised.
• Strong commitment to excellence in mathematics education, STEAM integration and the use of innovative pedagogies.
• Experience in obtaining competitive research funding and presenting at major academic conferences.
• Ability to supervise research postgraduate students and contribute to curriculum development.
