Project Engineer (Preschool & Fashion Brands)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join the Preschool & Fashion Engineering team at Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. You will own the engineering development and delivery of innovative, safe, high-quality toys from concept through production launch, supporting iconic brands such as PEPPA PIG, MY LITTLE PONY and BABY ALIVE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering development activities for Preschool & Fashion product lines, from concept evaluation to market introduction.
• Conduct feasibility studies, estimate BOM costs and develop tool plans during the early stages.
• Collaborate internationally with product design, project management, packaging, quality assurance and manufacturing partners to meet specifications and timelines.
• Analyze engineering build options to optimise performance, quality, cost and development speed.
• Debug products and drive issue resolution throughout development and production phases.
• Support on-site manufacturing process development, continuous improvement and tooling efficiency.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities, material optimisation and alternative sourcing programs.
• Maintain product specifications, product and tool BOMs and travel occasionally to Mainland China or other countries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing or product engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of engineering experience in production or product development, preferably in the toy industry.
• Fundamental understanding of plastic toy manufacturing, injection molding, assembly and decoration processes.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
• Passion for toys, play and creating joyful experiences.

Required skills

• Pro/E or SolidWorks (or other 3D-modeling software).
• 3D modelling and design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) knowledge.
• Experience with plastic injection molding and tool building.
• Understanding of toy regulations and standards.
