Reliability Engineer

About the role

Tower Research Capital is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support its high‑performance electronic trading platform. You will work closely with trading, risk, compliance and engineering teams to ensure the stability and reliability of order management and market data delivery systems across major exchanges.

Key responsibilities

• Manage widely‑deployed Order Management Systems and Market Data Delivery Systems covering all major electronic exchanges and asset classes.
• Collaborate with trading, risk, business and compliance stakeholders to gather requirements and implement production solutions.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for production systems, troubleshooting issues promptly.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of self‑correcting support systems to improve reliability.
• Architect solutions together with core engineering teams and monitor system health.
• Report on system status, serve as primary technical contact for brokers and exchanges, and cover after‑hours on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the finance industry.
• Strong Linux operating‑system knowledge, including kernel, scheduling and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, VLAN and multicast.
• Experience with databases, including SQL and MongoDB.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Python scripting (or similar scripting languages such as Perl, Bash or Shell).
• Linux OS, kernel internals and performance tuning.
• Network protocols: TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, multicast.
• SQL databases.
• MongoDB.
