Research Assistant II – Self-Compassion Project

About the role

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Hong Kong Metropolitan University seeks a Research Assistant II to support a funded study on self‑compassion interventions for transgender and gender‑diverse individuals. Working under Principal Investigator Dr. Polly Ma, the successful candidate will contribute to all phases of the project, from participant recruitment to data analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and take part in project activities, including conducting participant interviews and facilitating workshops.
• Prepare academic materials such as literature reviews and progress reports.
• Collect, manage, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
• Liaise with external NGOs and community groups to support project implementation.
• Provide administrative assistance to the research team and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Public Health or related field.
• Strong interest in research with gender‑minority populations.
• Experience with quantitative or health research methods.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities and self‑motivation.
