Resident Architect (RA)

About the role

The Resident Architect (RA) will act as the full‑time on‑site representative of the architectural consultant, ensuring that all architectural works meet the required quality standards and comply with local building regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise architectural works, including communal areas, curtain wall systems, waterproofing, barrier‑free design and modular integrated construction (MiC) finishes.
• Conduct monthly factory audits at off‑site MiC fabrication plants, verify dimensions, finishes, watertightness and airtightness, and issue audit reports.
• Review and comment on coordinated drawings, shop drawings, mock‑ups, method statements and test proposals submitted by the main contractor.
• Approve full‑size on‑site samples and MiC factory mock‑ups before mass production commences.
• Perform daily site patrols to inspect concealed waterproofing, vapor barriers, modular joint sealing and curtain wall installation.
• Chair coordination meetings, technical production meetings and progress reviews, documenting actions and monitoring design variations.
• Prepare regular progress reports, audit logs, snag lists and quality summaries for the Project Manager and Lead Architectural Designer.
• Address comments from statutory authorities and resolve technical queries from contractors and sub‑contractors.
• Validate as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and MiC completion certificates, and oversee project handover at practical completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognised university.
• Extensive experience supervising architectural works on large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes (e.g., BD PNAP) and public works regulations.
• Proven ability to manage factory audits and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
