Senior Accountant

About the role

Smith is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its APAC entities. The role involves managing end‑to‑end accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Verify supporting documents, prepare accounting vouchers, and process employee expense claims.
• Conduct freight charge audits, manage vendor master data, and execute online banking transactions.
• Assist in month‑end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Support regional accounting operations for APAC entities and maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and external stakeholders on accounting matters.
• Undertake general accounting duties and ad‑hoc assignments as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of solid accounting experience, with at least 3 years of team‑leadership experience.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP and managing accounting functions for entities in China, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
