Senior Construction Manager – Foundations (3-Year Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead foundation and sub‑structure works on large‑scale residential projects. Reporting to the Assistant Director (Project Management), you will oversee multiple sites, coordinate consultants and contractors, and ensure timely, safe, and compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise on‑site construction activities, focusing on excavation, piling, and ground works.
• Lead internal site teams including Clerks of Works, Resident Engineers and Building Services Inspectors throughout the full construction cycle.
• Implement HKHS site‑team policies and Integrated Quality System to maintain quality, safety and statutory compliance.
• Monitor progress, identify delays or technical issues, and coordinate resolutions with Project Managers, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Buildings Ordinance, relevant codes of practice, and environmental and safety regulations, especially for high‑risk foundation activities.
• Approve deployment of contract site staff and verify their competency for foundation and subsequent construction stages.
• Oversee project handover, manage defect rectification and follow‑up on post‑completion complaints.

Required profile

• Degree in Building, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline; professional qualifications such as MCIOB, MHKICM, MHKIE preferred.
• Minimum 15 years construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role on large residential developments.
• Proven expertise in foundation and sub‑structure works, including excavation, piling and ground works.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the full construction cycle from foundation to handover on at least two residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance, related legislation and industry codes.
