Senior Officer, Media & Communications

About the role

The Airport Authority Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Officer to lead media and communications activities that protect and enhance the airport’s corporate image. You will work in a fast‑paced, 24‑hour environment, supporting both routine enquiries and high‑visibility campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the roster duty for the 24‑hour media enquiry hotline.
• Handle media enquiries, organise events and proactively pitch stories to local and overseas outlets.
• Plan and execute media and publicity campaigns promoting HKIA initiatives.
• Prepare press releases, speeches, briefing notes and other written communication materials.
• Manage video production and other promotional projects from planning through delivery.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local, Mainland, trade and international media.
• Monitor and analyse coverage across print, broadcast, online and social platforms.
• Support issue and crisis communications promptly and professionally.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Language, Public Relations or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• Experience in media organisations, government departments, statutory bodies or PR agencies is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication and presentation abilities.
• Proactive, able to work under pressure and detail‑oriented with sound news judgement.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
