Senior Operations Safety Officer

About the role

The Senior Operations Safety Officer will lead the development and management of safety systems for the Hong Kong Transport Service Business Unit. This role ensures robust safety analysis, provides expert advice on operational safety, and drives safety education and promotion across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain operational safety systems, conduct safety analyses and advise on safety matters.
• Lead passenger safety promotion, education programmes and internal safety campaigns.
• Plan, organise and monitor smoke tests, prepare reports and oversee corrective actions.
• Facilitate communication and incident reporting between EMSD‑RB and HKTS units, and support safety committees and task forces.
• Monitor corrective actions from incident reviews and supervise staff handling passenger claims, safety data and reporting.
• Review internal and external safety incidents, share lessons learned and support safety enforcement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in business management, engineering, science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in railway operations or transportation, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Chartered Membership of the Institute of Logistics and Transport or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and report‑writing abilities.
