Senior Packaging Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Packaging Engineer you will lead the design of packaging structures that protect Hasbro products while simplifying construction. You will drive new paper‑based material innovations, ensure sustainability, and collaborate with global suppliers to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop safe, cost‑effective packaging structures for a wide range of consumer products.
• Implement quality control procedures for paper, coatings, inks and adhesives to maintain consistent product quality.
• Lead structural packaging initiatives, including process improvements, material qualification, manufacturing and cost reduction.
• Stay current on industry trends in paper, cardboard and printing technologies and act as a subject‑matter expert for internal teams.
• Analyze competitor packaging and pricing to inform market‑driven design decisions.
• Collaborate with global printers and material suppliers to introduce next‑generation, sustainable packaging materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Packaging Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in consumer product packaging within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in technical packaging structure design and knowledge of manufacturing, printing and converting processes.
• Strong network in the global paper material industry and deep understanding of paper, cardboard and laminate manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 2D/3D design software such as Esko ArtiosCAD, Adobe Illustrator and SolidWorks.
• Expertise in paper, cardboard and laminate packaging material processes.
• Hands‑on experience in packaging manufacturing, printing and converting technologies.
• Ability to develop and qualify new sustainable packaging materials.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities for structural design challenges.
