Senior Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Senior Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing food inventory, orders, and cost calculations within a busy hotel environment. This role ensures accurate record‑keeping, compliance with food safety standards, and smooth coordination with vendors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs.
• Maintain organized records, file reports and invoices, and post invoices using computer programs.
• Conduct inventory audits, complete requisition forms, and monitor PAR levels for all food items.
• Verify and track received inventory, reconcile shipping invoices with receiving reports, and generate inventory reports.
• Receive, unload, and process deliveries; reject damaged or incorrect items and manage return processes.
• Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Adhere to food safety and handling policies across all food‑related areas.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete required safety training.
• Follow company policies, maintain professional appearance, and protect confidential information.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, answer phones courteously, and support team goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related experience in purchasing or inventory management.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
