Senior Underwriter, Marine

About the role

AIG is looking for a Senior Underwriter, Marine to drive profitable growth of its marine portfolio in Hong Kong. You will lead a team, develop strategic plans, and build strong client relationships while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve profitable growth through sales, underwriting, and portfolio management.
• Identify new business segments, product opportunities, and growth strategies.
• Strengthen and expand distribution channels and develop new producers.
• Implement renewal preservation, operational efficiency, and compliance initiatives.
• Maintain and grow relationships with major clients.
• Mentor and develop the underwriting team to meet performance targets.
• Conduct financial forecasting and monthly business reviews with senior leadership.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of underwriting experience, including management responsibility.
• Strong expertise in Marine Cargo and Marine Liability underwriting.
• Proven leadership, marketing, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Deep knowledge of the local market with international exposure.
