Solution Architect – Retail (Hong Kong)

About the role

Alibaba Cloud is seeking a senior Solution Architect specialized in the retail sector to drive cloud adoption and competitive advantage for customers in Hong Kong. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating business needs into robust cloud solutions and guiding pre‑sales engagements from opportunity identification to contract signing.

Key responsibilities

• Produce market insight and competitive analysis reports for retail segments, identifying trends, pain points and growth opportunities.
• Lead pre‑sales engagements with key decision‑makers, uncover genuine needs and generate qualified sales opportunities.
• Design and promote tailored cloud solutions, manage POC testing, bidding and product configuration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Institutionalize reusable architecture templates, best practices and case studies; deliver enablement training for sales teams and ecosystem partners.
• Gather product requirements and defect feedback from retail projects to influence product enhancements and new feature launches.
• For senior‑level candidates, lead cross‑functional teams, develop sales playbooks and represent Alibaba Cloud at industry conferences.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pre‑sales, development or operations within internet or software companies.
• Hands‑on experience delivering mid‑to‑large‑scale IT projects such as cloud migration, data‑center relocation, application modernization or digital transformation.
• Proven ability to translate complex customer requirements into concrete cloud architectures.
• Strong communication skills to build trust with senior business stakeholders.
