Substitute Teacher

About the role

Stamford American School Hong Kong, a private international school for children aged 5 to 18 and an accredited CIS school and IB World School, is looking for an experienced Substitute Teacher. The role provides and maintains a learning-conducive atmosphere when the main teacher of the class is not available, supporting a class of different age ranges and stepping in instantly.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with the children in the class and their parents, and work positively with all other staff
• Be a present and representative member of the school in its wider community
• Plan and deliver child-centred learning activities and act as a facilitator in the classroom
• Use a balanced range of teaching strategies

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience working with children as a teacher, with relevant qualifications
• Knowledge of curriculum development
• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
