Superintendent, Baggage Handling System Maintenance

About the role

The Airport Authority Hong Kong is seeking a Superintendent to lead the maintenance and fault response for its Baggage Handling System and related automation equipment at Hong Kong International Airport. The role involves overseeing first‑line service, monitoring system performance, and coordinating maintenance activities across multiple subsystems. You will work in a shift‑based schedule to ensure continuous operation of critical baggage handling infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line response service and fault attendance for BHS, AABD, EBS, BSS, S@E, RFID and other airport facilities.
• Control and monitor the performance of BHS, AABD, EBS, BSS, S@E, RFID and related systems.
• Assist in developing and refining the system failure contingency plan and conduct system failure drill exercises.
• Assist the line maintenance team to supervise planned maintenance works during the duty shift.
• Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors for BHS, AABD, EBS, BSS, S@E, RFID and other facilities.
• Prepare duty logs, incident reports, fault investigations and analysis of abnormal faults.
• Perform shift duties on an alternating 2‑day day/night schedule with 2‑day off.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Building Services Engineering or related disciplines with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Degree holder with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Candidates without the above qualifications but with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Team player with good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, proactive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid Hong Kong driving licence (Class 1 or 2) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; knowledge of Putonghua preferred.
