System Administrator (IT Officer) – Multiple Posts

About the role

The Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) seeks experienced System Administrators at the rank of IT Officer to manage its data‑center, infrastructure and high‑performance computing (HPC) environment. The position is a two‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, patch, back up and monitor Linux and Windows servers.
• Support and maintain HPC clusters and petabyte‑scale storage systems.
• Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability.
• Provide Tier‑2 user support for system and application problems.
• Implement security best practices and oversee hardware lifecycle, including out‑of‑band monitoring and vendor coordination.
• Contribute to IT infrastructure projects, deployments and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on system administration experience.
• Strong communication skills, proactive attitude and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Linux administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Windows Server administration.
• Shell scripting and process automation.
• Server hardware setup and out‑of‑band monitoring.
• Experience with petabyte‑scale storage systems.
• Familiarity with HPC clusters and distributed parallel file systems (advantageous).
