Tax Principal – Portfolio Management & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Principal to lead the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of corporate and individual clients. The role combines strategic oversight, client relationship management, and team leadership to ensure high‑quality tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically manage tax compliance and service delivery for a varied client base.
• Provide clear, actionable tax advisory and guide clients through complex tax issues.
• Drive business development initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, tax authorities, and external advisors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
• Contribute thought leadership and stay current with industry trends.
• Uphold BDO’s policies, values, and professional standards.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting or a related discipline.
• Qualified accountant with at least 10 years of experience in a large accounting firm or industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Effective communicator with a persuasive presentation style.
• Self‑driven, highly organized, and capable of leading teams and working independently.
