Teacher of Design & Technology – ESF Secondary Schools (EOI)

About the role

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) invites qualified teachers to express interest in Design & Technology teaching positions across its secondary schools for the 2026/2027 academic year. Candidates may specialise in Food Technology, Design & Engineering, or Textiles, delivering curriculum-aligned lessons and supporting student development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Food Technology courses, including BTEC Hospitality, IGCSE Food & Nutrition, and related elements.
• Teach Design & Technology concepts, using CAD/CAM tools and multi‑axis CNC machines.
• Provide Textile instruction across multiple year levels, integrating design thinking and digital tools.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects.
• Oversee subject‑specific labs, workshops, and equipment, ensuring safety and organisation.
• Coordinate extracurricular activities and competitions to enhance student engagement.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of curriculum frameworks such as the MYP, IGCSE, and BTEC.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject area with a recognised PGCE/PGDE.
• Eligibility for Teacher Registration with the Hong Kong Education Bureau.
• Newly qualified teachers or candidates with experience in an accredited educational institution.
• Understanding of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and international curriculum standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD).
• Proficiency in Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
• Hands‑on experience operating multi‑axis CNC machines.
