Teaching Assistant (Hourly Pay)

About the role

The British Council Hong Kong Teaching Centre is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support classroom activities for Very Young Learners. You will work closely with teachers to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with material preparation and classroom set‑up.
• Supervise children during lessons and reinforce classroom rules.
• Model appropriate behaviour and encourage active participation.
• Manage customer flow and direct queries to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Clear communication skills in Cantonese.
• Ability to understand and follow simple English instructions.
• Basic knowledge of functional classroom language.
• HKDSE / GCSE or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays as needed.
