Technical Officer / Senior Research Assistant – HK Science Park

About the role

The position is for a Technical Officer / Senior Research Assistant to join a research laboratory at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. The role involves maintaining a safe, organized lab environment and supporting multidisciplinary research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the laboratory complies with safety standards and remains well‑organized.
• Support the team with procurement and manage inventory of consumables and reagents.
• Handle administrative tasks related to laboratory operations.
• Maintain and operate laboratory instruments, including mass spectrometers and chromatography systems.
• Provide training and onboarding for new staff and students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or related fields.
• Minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably with mass spectrometry, proteomics, liquid chromatography, organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good project‑management skills to plan and oversee research activities.
