Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Flow Traders is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its Technology team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on delivering desktop and workstation support for traders, business users, and the wider APAC office, ensuring a reliable Windows‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for end‑users via phone, email, chat, or ticketing system.
• Provide first‑line support for Windows, application, and hardware issues.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, peripherals, printers, AV systems, and network cabling.
• Manage user onboarding/off‑boarding, desk setups, and access provisioning.
• Monitor Windows servers, VDI platforms (Omnissa Horizon, Omnissa VDI) and enterprise applications.
• Provision and assign Linux and Windows virtual machines.
• Escalate unresolved incidents to specialised IT teams or third‑party vendors.
• Maintain inventory, organise storerooms, and create knowledge‑base articles.
• Collect user feedback and relay trends to platform owners and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of desktop/workstation engineering and end‑user support experience, preferably in a low‑latency trading or financial services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, structured, and proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Windows operating system and Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, MDM tools).
• Linux operating system and virtual machine provisioning.
• VDI platforms – Omnissa Horizon and Omnissa VDI.
• Hardware setup and troubleshooting (PCs, monitors, peripherals, printers, AV equipment).
• Network cabling and basic networking concepts.
• Ticketing systems and remote troubleshooting tools.
