Tenure-Track Associate/Assistant Professor in Microbiology

About the role

The Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine invites applications for a tenure‑track Associate Professor or Assistant Professor position. The appointment starts as soon as possible on a three‑year fixed‑term contract, with renewal and potential tenure based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage research projects focused on emerging infectious diseases.
• Publish original research articles in high‑impact journals.
• Secure external competitive research grants.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the university and external partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Microbiology, Virology or a closely related field.
• Strong track record in virological research, demonstrated by publications and grant success.
• Ability to supervise students and junior researchers.
• For candidates with less experience, the Assistant Professor appointment will be considered.

Required skills

• Structural biology techniques for virus‑virus or virus‑host interaction studies.
• Artificial intelligence or computational approaches applied to virology.
• Immunology, including immunity and immunopathology to viruses.
• Multiple‑omics methods to investigate virus‑induced host responses.
