Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor

About the role

The Department of Microbiology seeks a Tenure‑Track Clinical Assistant Professor to join its School of Clinical Medicine. The appointment is on a four‑year fixed‑term basis with the possibility of renewal and eventual tenure, pending satisfactory performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, organize and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
• Conduct independent research and publish findings in reputable journals.
• Provide clinical services at the University’s teaching hospitals.
• Supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to departmental administration.

Required profile

• Medical qualification registrable with the Hong Kong Medical Council and postgraduate qualifications in clinical microbiology or infectious diseases.
• Demonstrated excellence and commitment to teaching, including experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Ability to supervise research students and a proven track record of research publications.
• Broad clinical experience spanning laboratory work to bedside patient care.
