Utility Attendant

About the role

The Utility Attendant supports daily operations of the hotel’s kitchen and service areas by maintaining cleanliness, handling dishware, and managing waste. This full‑time position ensures a safe, sanitary environment for staff and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen tools, knives, tables, and equipment using detergent, rinsing and sanitizing chemicals in a 3‑compartment sink.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; re‑scrub and re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Empty and maintain trash cans, dumpsters, and recycling bins; break down cardboard and glass for proper disposal.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, following company safety and security policies.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or prior experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach overhead for extended periods.
• Clear, professional communication and a collaborative attitude.
• Commitment to follow safety procedures and report hazards.
