About the role
The Vice President, Internal Audit will lead and support audit engagements across the bank’s diverse business functions, ensuring robust risk management and governance. This senior position reports to the Head of Internal Audit and works closely with senior management to strengthen the control environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute audits across multiple business areas, evaluating internal controls, risk management practices, and governance processes.
- Identify control gaps, operational inefficiencies, and non‑compliance issues, and deliver practical, business‑focused recommendations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of financial, operational and business data, preparing comprehensive audit reports for senior stakeholders.
- Communicate audit findings, risk implications, and recommended actions to senior management and relevant parties.
- Monitor implementation of audit actions and follow‑up on action plans.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations, bank policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align audits with Group objectives and strategies.
- Support the Head of Internal Audit in delivering the annual audit plan and risk assessments.
Required profile
- Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of audit experience in banking or financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of corporate/commercial banking, credit underwriting, portfolio management and treasury operations.
- Deep understanding of Hong Kong banking regulations and regulatory expectations.
- Proven ability to assess business risks and internal controls, providing pragmatic recommendations.
- Excellent project and stakeholder management skills, capable of leading audit engagements independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented, with experience using data‑driven audit analytics and automation tools.
