Accountant - Project Costing and Financial Reporting

About the role

Veolia Hong Kong Holding Limited, part of the Veolia Group, is looking for an Accountant based in Quarry Bay. The role covers financial control and reporting, project cost control, cash flow management and compliance, and supports the Finance Manager with budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a full set of books, project accounting records and ledger balances, and prepare month-end closing, financial analysis and monthly variance reports against budgeted CAPEX and OPEX.
• Monitor project expenditure, track contract variations, review subcontractor payment applications and audit heavy equipment or plant procurement spending.
• Handle daily treasury functions, manage project invoicing and prepare cash flow forecasts with aging analysis for AP and AR.
• Ensure transactions comply with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and group control policies, coordinating with auditors and tax advisors.
• Assist the Finance Manager with annual budgets, quarterly rolling forecasts and long-term financial modelling, and support ad hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Member or final-stage student of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia).
• 3-5 years of full-set accounting experience, preferably in construction, waste management, joint ventures or heavy utility/engineering projects.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; immediate availability preferred.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of general accounting principles, project costing methods and Hong Kong tax regulations.
• High familiarity with major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
