AI Architect

About the role

HSBC is looking for an experienced AI Architect to shape the future of its Group AI platform. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the GCIO, business lines and AI leadership to embed AI capabilities into existing systems while ensuring regulatory compliance and responsible use.

Key responsibilities

• Engage senior stakeholders to define strategic AI solutions aligned with organisational priorities.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership for the design and architecture of the Group AI/GenAI platform.
• Translate AI/GenAI industry trends into actionable architecture decisions, identifying opportunities and risks.
• Develop reference architectures covering data, models, compute, tooling, orchestration and governance.
• Create integration designs linking AI services to data, applications, APIs and cloud telemetry.
• Define infrastructure blueprints for hybrid‑cloud and on‑premises compute, storage, networking, security and access.
• Champion AI strategy across HSBC Architecture and Engineering forums and support vendor evaluation through PoC activities.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of AI and Generative AI concepts and their enterprise adoption.
• Proven experience influencing senior leadership and driving cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory standards related to AI safety and ethics.
• Ability to stay current with emerging AI technologies and translate them into secure, scalable solutions.
