AI Infrastructure Hardware Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an AI Infrastructure Hardware Engineer to join a fast‑growing European deep‑tech company that designs and manufactures its own HPC servers for a sovereign cloud. The role is based in Hong Kong and combines work on the factory floor, in a test lab and across manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own quality control across manufacturing sites, overseeing assembly and end‑to‑end testing of GPU servers before deployment.
• Run the hardware test lab: board and system bring‑up, validation and stress testing of new server builds.
• Define and maintain test procedures, acceptance criteria and QC checkpoints for chassis, boards and full systems.
• Diagnose hardware, firmware and driver issues (BIOS/BMC, GPU firmware, PCIe, thermals, power) and drive root‑cause analysis with design and manufacturing teams.
• Validate GPU compute and interconnect performance under Linux using CUDA, NCCL and benchmarking tools, and document failures, yields and test results.
• Coordinate daily with manufacturing partners and local suppliers in both English and Mandarin.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience testing and validating GPU/HPC servers (bring‑up, burn‑in, validation).
• Strong Linux skills at the system and hardware level.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both non‑negotiable).
• Willingness to work on‑site in Hong Kong on the factory floor and in the lab.

Required skills

• Firmware knowledge: BIOS/UEFI, BMC/IPMI, GPU and NIC firmware, flashing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with the NVIDIA GPU stack: drivers, CUDA, NCCL, and multi‑GPU benchmarking.
• Solid understanding of server hardware components: motherboards, PCIe topology, power, cooling, storage and networking.
• QC or manufacturing test processes in a hardware production environment.
• Scripting in Bash or Python to automate test sequences and reporting.
