Assistant Housekeeper

About the role

The Mandarin Oriental The Landmark in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Housekeeper to support the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in supervising daily housekeeping operations and ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, exterior, and back‑of‑house zones to verify cleanliness and quality.
• Handle guest enquiries and comments promptly, providing professional solutions to enhance satisfaction.
• Manage departmental budget, control labour and operating expenses through effective planning, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Oversee contractors and coordinate with contract cleaners to meet schedules and standards.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and fire policies, as well as service standards and operational procedures.
• Identify training needs, deliver training sessions, and support performance management of the housekeeping team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hospitality experience, including at least 2 years in a similar supervisory role.
• Proficient in written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are an advantage.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional guest service.
• Friendly, motivational, and enthusiastic personality.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
