Assistant/Associate Professor – School of Chinese Medicine

About the role

The School of Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University seeks to fill a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in English and develop a research programme aligned with the School’s strategic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures and tutorials in Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine Pharmacology, Chinese Medicine Processing, and Pharmaceutical Science.
• Supervise graduate research projects and mentor students.
• Establish and lead collaborative research projects in precision medicine, translational drug discovery, and authentication/testing of Chinese medicines.
• Secure external research funding and publish in reputable journals.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and academic committees.

Required profile

• PhD in Pharmacy, Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceutical Science or a closely related field.
• Post‑doctoral research experience with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain external research grants.
• Excellent command of English for teaching and scholarly communication.
• Commitment to the advancement of traditional Chinese medicine through research and education.

Required skills

• Expertise in Chinese Medicine pharmacology, processing, or pharmaceutical science.
• Experience with precision medicine, phenomics, or translational drug discovery methodologies.
• Proficiency in research design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
