Backend Architect – Card Systems

About the role

Join the Binance Pay&Card team as a Backend Architect responsible for designing and building end‑to‑end card‑related systems. You will shape the technical foundation of card issuing, lifecycle management, and certification processes while working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain backend services for card issuing and lifecycle management.
• Lead the design and implementation of card certification processes (Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
• Define system architecture, service boundaries, and integration patterns for the card platform.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance with payment network standards.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, and technical documentation.
• Work hands‑on to build and iterate on core payment infrastructure.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and the Spring framework.
• Direct experience building or maintaining card systems and handling card certification or onboarding programs.
• Proven ability to design distributed, high‑throughput payment infrastructures.
• Deep understanding of card network standards, payment flows, and compliance requirements.
