Building Services Officer – HVAC Division

About the role

The University is seeking a high‑caliber professional to join its Building Services (Operation & Maintenance) team, specifically within the HVAC Division. The officer will provide both administrative and technical support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of water‑side HVAC installations across campus.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise in‑house staff and external maintenance contractors.
• Design and prepare tender documents, purchase orders, specifications, and drawings.
• Conduct hand‑over inspections for new and renovated projects and compile defect lists.
• Liaise with campus users, internal departments, and contractors on maintenance, operation, upgrades, and improvements of HVAC systems.
• Perform hands‑on work on chilled water, hot water, chiller plants, pump houses, and building management controls.
• Cover overnight shift duties and respond to emergency situations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, higher diploma or higher certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Registered electrical worker status.
• Fluent in spoken and written Chinese (including Putonghua) and English.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and independent work capabilities.

Required skills

• AutoCAD proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with HVAC water‑side installations, chilled water systems, hot water systems, chiller plants, and pump houses.
• Knowledge of building management systems and controls.
