Clinic Assistant – Senior Technical Assistant

About the role

The Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Clinic Assistant at the rank of Senior Technical Assistant to support its outpatient clinics and specialised centres. The position starts as soon as possible on a two‑year fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reception duties, including appointment bookings, registration, and referral handling.
• Handle patient and visitor enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
• Provide clinical support such as vital‑sign measurement, ECG, venepuncture, and respirator fit testing.
• Assist doctors during consultations, minor procedures, and arrange follow‑up bookings, admissions, imaging, and payments.
• Prepare consultation rooms, manage laboratory specimens, and sterilise surgical instruments.
• Support teaching, research, and community‑engagement activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 passes in HKCEE (including English, Chinese, Mathematics) or equivalent Level 2 in HKDSEE.
• Preferably 3 years of relevant experience in clinics or healthcare institutes.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong health‑care service delivery.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese.
• Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Venepuncture and blood‑taking techniques (certificate advantageous).
• ECG operation and interpretation.
• Vital‑sign measurement and respirator fit testing.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
