Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Cloud DevOps Engineer to join the infrastructure team of a global quantitative hedge fund. The role involves building, deploying and supporting highly scalable platforms that run both in the cloud and on‑premises, enabling researchers, engineers and traders to work efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and support cloud and on‑premises infrastructure platforms.
• Manage and optimise containerised environments using Kubernetes and related technologies.
• Develop and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, primarily with GitLab CI.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automated configuration management solutions (Terraform, Ansible).
• Support distributed production systems and improve platform reliability and observability.
• Administer and optimise AWS services including VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, EFS, EBS and FSx.
• Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting and automation initiatives across the technology estate.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container technologies (EKS, Docker, Podman).
• Hands‑on experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC tools.
• Solid Linux administration background, especially RHEL or Rocky Linux.
• Good understanding of core AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM, storage services).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Coralogix, OpenTelemetry).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Relevant experience administering GitLab, including on‑premises environments.
• Exposure to Snowflake or ClickHouse is a plus.
• Programming experience in Python, C# or Rust is advantageous.
• Prior experience in financial services, trading or performance‑sensitive environments is strongly preferred.
