Contract Manager, Legal

About the role

Prudential is looking for a Contract Manager, Legal to provide legal support on the development of its insurance business and on day-to-day legal matters. The role covers drafting and reviewing insurance policies and related marketing materials, advising on product design and sales journeys, and handling commercial and reinsurance contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review insurance policy provisions independently, including all associated marketing documentation and communications.
• Advise on the design of products and sales journeys across traditional agency, brokerage and digital channels.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and reinsurance contracts, and support ad hoc projects such as ongoing development of digital platforms.
• Advise on the legal aspects of customer complaints and insurance claims, and on investigations of agents and their potential impact on Prudential.
• Oversee and manage litigation, including reporting and strategy.
• Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments in insurance law and other relevant regulations, and give updates and training to staff.
• Provide legal input on regulatory consultation papers and handle records management.

Required profile

• LLB degree holder and qualified Hong Kong solicitor with at least 3 years of relevant experience from reputable financial institutions or law firms.
• Excellent command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of Hong Kong insurance regulations and industry practice is an advantage.
