Director, Operational Resilience

About the role

Manulife is hiring a Director, Operational Resilience for its Hong Kong business. The role leads the Business Continuity Management and operational resilience strategy, working with markets, cross-functional stakeholders and the Operational Resilience Office to protect critical operations against disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a Business Continuity Management and operational resilience strategy for Hong Kong, meeting enterprise standards and regulatory requirements, and lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Help establish the operational resilience governance model, identify critical operations, map their dependencies and define impact tolerance, and run scenario tests to validate readiness.
• Support remediation of vulnerabilities, track progress with KPIs and KRIs, and partner with TPRM and other enablement programmes.
• Lead non-tech teams in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans, and run regular testing and exercises.
• Validate critical third parties, build and test exit plans for them, and ensure BCPs reflect critical operations considerations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, strategy, operations management or a related field.
• 5-10+ years of experience in insurance, banking or wealth and asset management, with 5+ years in an operations management role.
• Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional, time-sensitive programmes that meet business and regulatory expectations.
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills, and a good understanding of financial services regulations, including with Compliance and Risk.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of operational resilience and business continuity risk management.
• Experience with risk and control self-assessments, scenario testing, process mapping, action planning and risk identification.
• Knowledge of risk management principles, best practices and tools.
