Engineering Manager - Travel FX App

About the role

Doit, the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team building and scaling products used by millions of users. The role suits a strong technical leader who drives products and systems from idea to production, owns the quality of the team and the speed and quality of its output, and works across people, product and technology. It is a fully remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend and full stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, shipping quickly without compromising reliability and quality.
• Work with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to turn ambiguous product problems into clear technical execution.
• Drive architecture and engineering decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer-facing systems.
• Set standards for code quality, system design, testing, observability, security and production reliability.
• Develop engineers through feedback, coaching, performance management and clear expectations, and improve processes, tooling and automation.
• Monitor systems, resolve incidents, find root causes and prevent recurrence; build a culture of ownership, speed and technical excellence.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience shipping real production systems.
• Experience leading or managing engineers and owning engineering delivery.
• Strong technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Track record of taking products from idea through launch and production.
• Comfortable reviewing designs, challenging decisions, debugging complex production issues and making technical trade-offs.
• Strong people leadership, product sense and ability to work fast with ambiguity.
• Strong English communication; comfortable in a distributed, international team.
