About the role

Cubist Systematic Strategies is seeking early‑career talent to join its quantitative research team. As an Entry‑Level Quantitative Researcher you will be trained across the full systematic‑trading pipeline, from idea generation to live‑trading considerations. The role offers a fast‑paced environment where rigorous research drives investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original quantitative alpha‑signal research.
• Follow, digest and analyse the latest academic research.
• Manage the end‑to‑end research process, including idea generation, data analysis, hypothesis development, testing, alpha discovery, strategy generation, back‑testing and portfolio analysis.
• Build analytical tools to enhance the shared research framework.

Required profile

• B.S., M.S. or PhD in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science or another quantitative discipline.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Willingness to take ownership of work and deliver high‑quality results on time.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Required skills

• Programming in Python (or a comparable language).
• Working knowledge of SQL.
