Equestrian Rider & Coach

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Equestrian Rider & Coach to join the Equestrian Affairs Department at The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Based at the Beas River Equestrian Centre, you will work six days a week supporting the retraining and development of horses transitioning into the Riding School and delivering lessons to members.

Key responsibilities

• Assess horses and design tailored training programmes, including ridden and groundwork sessions.
• Deliver daily exercise, hacking, lungeing, long‑reining, arena, grass and hill work.
• Teach a variety of riding lessons to members and public riders.
• Provide riding and coaching support to livery members to aid their progression.
• Assist veterinary and farrier teams during visits and rehabilitation programmes.
• Supervise Equestrian Assistants and coordinate training schedules.
• Handle administrative and operational duties related to the Riding School.

Required profile

• Qualified Coach & Rider, Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in horse assessment, training programme design and execution.
• Ability to teach riding lessons to riders of varying abilities.
• Experience working with veterinary and farrier professionals.
• Strong organisational skills to manage daily schedules and supervise staff.
