Facilities Services Manager

About the role

The Facilities Services Manager oversees the maintenance and overall management of a school campus and its residential facilities. This role ensures that all building systems, public areas, and specialized spaces operate safely, efficiently, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily walkthroughs of classrooms, offices, corridors, car parks, toilets, pools, fitness rooms, playgrounds and residential areas to verify safety and functionality.
• Schedule, prioritize and supervise repair, replacement, minor construction and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Prepare specifications and schedules for routine services such as cleaning, event setup and moving works.
• Supervise internal facilities staff and external contractors, allocate work, conduct briefings and evaluate performance annually.
• Maintain accurate records for preventive maintenance programs and ensure compliance with government regulations and the school's Code of Practice.
• Coordinate pest‑control activities with specialist contractors.
• Manage project work during school breaks, collaborating with the Facilities Management team and other departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building management, preferably in an educational environment.
• Strong organisational and supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Familiarity with building systems and equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of health & safety compliance and government regulations.
